Full Frame Festival – With the Kinksmen!
First, buy your tickets and then read…
I’d be lying if I told you it wasn’t a special thrill to be playing The Full Frame Documentary Festival on April 9. Never mind that it’s one of the most respected documentary festivals in the world. There’s a personal hook: Carlene and I lived in North Carolina for six years and actually still own our Boylan Heights bungalow.
Enough about us. Not only did we get invited to Full Frame, the (brillliant!) programmers came up with an idea. How about a special screening in the majestic Fletcher Hall on a Friday night? And how about bringing in a band after the movie plays?
That would be yes and yes.
We haven’t let you down. After our screening, we’ll have the fabulous Jeff Hart (below) leading his Kinksmen (lead guitarist Mike Nicholson, bassist James Hepler, drummer Matt Brown) into the Carolina. As for guests, try a trio of Carolina pop royalty: Chris Stamey and Peter Holsapple – you know them as The dB’s – and Let’s Active leader and superproducer (REM, Pavement) Mitch Easter.
So gobble up them tickets now!
