heard you today with emily rooney. The first single I bought was ‘Have I the Right” by the Honeycombs who had a female drummer, very sexy. Anyway, the second single which walked 5 miles to buy was “You Really Got Me’. It was an orange label Reprise recording. It was at a Zayres in Beverly. I have seen Ray as recently as last year at The Berkeley Performance Center. There is nothing more fun than Kinks music. I would love to be there on the 24th but doubt I can. How can I see it? Can’t I buy a dvd?
My jaw hit the ground yesterday when I saw the cover of the Globe Magazine Section. I’ve been a rather lazy reader of the Kinks digest of late, and only vaguely knew about this documentary (we’ve been dealing with our daughter’s college admissions stuff – very time consuming). When I looked at this little piece….
….and saw that (OMG!!!!!!!!!!!) Robyn Hitchcock was going to be in the documentary, AND when I saw you completely diss the Eagles (always my first example of a “I’m going to stick my finger down my throat” band), I knew I had to get tix for the Boston show immediately. I’ve posted to the digest. I got 6 phone calls yesterday. You are making the fact that I just got a cortisone shot in my totally screwed up back a lot less depressing. God Save the Kinks! Thank you, Geoff
